Your violinist will not likely have experience playing keyboard programming but our accompanying PDF setup guide for this show will have step by step instructions on how to do this. You will need a violinist who can also play some basic keyboard and that can also read bass clef. There are only 15 synth patches in this book and they are all 80’s/90’s synth sounds that help to create the mood for that scene. There are a couple of songs where there is bass clef notation but it is still on one staff. When the book calls for synth, the notation is all on one staff making it easy to go from violin to a single hand on the keyboard. This show is slightly different than others in that in the licensed orchestration, there is a traditional Keyboard/Conductor book that is all piano and then there is a separate Violin/Synth book designed to be played by a musician who can double on piano and violin. This version is based on the Original 2009 Broadway Production.
